After that streak, McEnroe was unbroken to the end of the 4-hour 38-minute marathon. It was the first of only four meetings between them (the American won them all)… McEnroe went undefeated through the entire Davis Cup 1982 edition with the best possible record 12-0, however, he notched three dead rubbers.
