  1. Voo de Mar says:
    Points won by each set: | 37-33, 34-24, 36-22 |
Points won directly behind the serve:
    28 % Borg – 27 of 94
    21 % Kodes – 20 of 92

Sweden conquers its first Davis Cup trophy, mainly thanks to amazing performance (in the entire ’75 edition) of the 19-year-old Borg, who won all his singles rubbers that year and vastly contributed to the doubles wins. The 10-year-older Kodes was already behind his prime years. He had lost four consecutive matches to Borg prior to the DC final, but all encounters were more or less balanced to the end. This time he was simply one pace too slow for Borg’s astonishing court-coverage. The Swede could win the 3rd set 6-1, but his a bit shaky BH-passing-shot from a comfortable position, landed on Kodes racquet. In the following game the Ice-man was nervous, at *5:2 (40/15) missed the easiest possible overhead and was forced to save two break points in that game before converting the fifth match point.
