  1. Voo de Mar says:
    Points won by each set: | 43-41, 46-39, 44-38 |
Points won directly behind the serve:
    51 % Raonic – 58 of 113
    28 % Tipsarevic – 40 of 138

The ‘best of three’ final consisted of three tie-breaks it’s a rarity as well as a match of this type deprived of a break of serve. Raonic & Tipsarevic couldn’t break each other despite break points in six games. Particularly interesting was the first of those games at 2:1 for Raonic in the opener, when Tipsarevic saved three consecutive ad-break points serving aces almost excatly in the same spot (down the T). In the 2nd set the Canadian trailed 3:4 (15/40) – saved those mini-match points with ace & overhead. He was two points away from defeat at 5:6 (30-all) – he won one of the longest rallies of the final then.

Raonic’s route to his 2nd title:
    2 Victor Hanescu 6-1, 6-4
    Q Dudi Sela 7-6(4), 6-3
    S Nicolas Almagro 6-4, 6-4
    W Janko Tipsarevic 6-7(4), 7-6(4), 7-6(4)

All tie-break three set finals (the best of 3):
    Los Angeles 1985: P.Annacone d. S.Edberg 7-6(5), 6-7(8), 7-6(4) …… 2:54
    Halle 1997: Y.Kafelnikov d. P.Korda 7-6(2), 6-7(5), 7-6(7) …… 2:20
    Chennai 2012: M.Raonic d. J.Tipsarevic 6-7(4), 7-6(4), 7-6(4) …… 3:13
    Atlanta 2013: J.Isner d. K.Anderson 6-7(3), 7-6(2), 7-6(2) …… 2:54
    Queens Club 2014: G.Dimitrov d. F.Lopez 6-7(8), 7-6(1), 7-6(6) …… 2:31
    Newport 2016: I.Karlovic d. G.Muller 6-7(2), 7-6(5), 7-6(12) …… 2:56
