   # Djokovic had a match point on serve at 5:0 in the 2nd set – if he had converted, it would have been the first double bagel in the Open Era final! Before Djokovic, Nadal was the closest to produce a double bagel in a final as he led against Alberto Martin 6-0, 4:0 in Costa do Sauipe ’05 to ultimately win the match in three sets. The Serb had won 24 consecutive matches in Beijing since 2009 (five titles, didn’t play in 2011). “This has been, in the circumstances, probably the best performance of any final in my career. It was incredible,” said Djokovic of his effort. “I have played some great finals, had some convincing wins, some straight-set wins against top rivals. But with this kind of performance and with this domination result-wise, I mean it’s never happened.” Berdych had held serve in 35 of his first 36 service games in Beijing before the final. He said afterwards: “I met somebody in the final who I’ve never seen before. I was just swept off the court.”
