Clay was [65] Martin’s worst surface, yet he won his arguably biggest title on that surface after a two-year break from the previous title, and he did it shortly after returning on the tour from an 8-month break. What’s more astonishing, he convincingly defeated in Barcelona six players who could say “clay is my fave surface”.
