  1. Voo de Mar says:
    Points won by each set: | 34-33, 22-30, 38-31 |
Points won directly behind the serve:
    23 % Garcia-Lopez – 21 of 89
    30 % Nieminen – 30 of 99

Garcia-Lopez [53] won three games in the opener saving break points. In the decider, he broke Nieminen [60] in the 10th game on his fourth match point with a sizzling cross-court FH return winner, after the longest game of the final (five deuces). “I didn’t know how it would be on the court for me,” said Garcia-Lopez, the eighth different Spaniard to win an ATP title in the 2010 season. “It was so tough against Nadal, I didn’t know what my condition would be. Jarkko played tough, there were just small differences at the end. I’m really pleased with how I served and fought. Both this match and the one against Nadal were difficult for me.” The final lasted 1 hour 56 minutes, 50 minutes shorter than GGL’s semifinal against the best player in the world then.

    GGL’s route to the title:
    1 Michael Berrer 6-4, 7-6(4)
    2 Florent Serra 7-5, 6-7(3), 7-5
    Q Ernests Gulbis 7-6(4), 4-6, 6-3
    S Rafael Nadal 2-6, 7-6(3), 6-3
    W Jarkko Nieminen 6-4, 3-6, 6-4

In two matches Garcia-Lopez was seven points away from being eliminated: vs Serra (2:46 hrs) & Nieminen, also two points away from losing to Nadal (2:46 hrs)
