# Due to Covid-19, the second edition was limited from 24 to 12 teams and the champion was supposed to play 4 ties instead of 6 (Serbia in 2020)
Points won by each set: | 27-11, 29-14 |
Points won directly behind the serve:
30 % Rublev – 12 of 39
21 % Fognini – 9 of 42
Brutal performance of Rublev [8] who destroyed his tricky opponent from the back of the court. Fognini [11] was trying everything to slow the game down, but in vain. A year before Rublev was disappointed that Khachanov played the event along with Medvedev. “I was playing really well all week since the first match and I was just going on court thinking that I needed to fight for every ball. I played Fabio before six times and I lost a few times really tough matches, really painful ones,” Rublev said. “I knew it didn’t matter the score, he always has a chance. He always knows how to come back, so I was trying to keep going no matter the score. In the end, I’m really happy with the way it went today and the way I played today.”
Final (Melbourne): Russia d. Italy 2-0
Andrey Rublev – Fabio Fognini 6-1, 6-2
Daniil Medvedev – Matteo Berrettini 6-2, 6-4
Evgeny Donskoy/Aslan Karatsev vs Simone Bolelli/Andrea Vavassori – not played
Russia’s route to the title:

S: Germany 2-1, W: Italy 2-0
