   That night-session match actually marked the end of Pernfors’ [63] adherence to the broad tennis elite. The 26-year-old Swede suffered a series of injuries afterwards, and dropped outside the Top 200 for over two years to make a magnificent comeback to the ATP tour triumphing in Montreal ’93. Meanwhile, for the three years older Noah [13] – a member of a strict elite for the entire 80s – reaching a major semifinal it was his last significant result (he barely survived the opener, 7-5 in the 5th set vs Prpić).
