# Amazing – the 20-year-old Kyrgios [53] for the second time in six months, escapes from a two-sets-to-love deficit being within a few points to lose the last two sets (1, 5; previously 2, 1)… In the opener Seppi [46] had wasted break points in three different games before he finally broke at 5-all & broke again at 4-all in the 2nd. In the 4th set Kyrgios fought off a match point with a curve service winner (DTL). In the following point he barely avoided the second match point hitting the lines (sideline & baseline) with his two consecutive cross-court backhands. In the tie-break at 4:5 he hit an ace to clinch it 7/5 with great BH DTL. Just like in the 3rd set, in the decider Kyrgios built a 3:0 lead, but Seppi had his mini-match point at 4-all – Kyrgios hit an ace – out-wide. Trailing *6:7 the Italian didn’t handle the pressure – began the game with two casual mistakes; Kyrgios converted the first of his three match points after a challenge. Remarkable that two years later, on the same court (Hisense Arena) Seppi avenges almost a copy of that 2015 defeat.
Serve & volley: Kyrgios 1/3, Seppi 0/1
