  1. Voo de Mar says:
    Points won by each set: | 42-42, 43-44, 26-21, 25-11 |
Points won directly behind the serve:
    16 % Djokovic – 22 of 136
    24 % Murray – 29 of 118

In the opening set Murray led 4:2 in the tie-break when committed a double fault, at 5-all he made a casual volley error. In the 2nd set Djokovic led 4:2*, then he saved a set point at 4:5; Murray fought off three break points at 5-all. The Scot began the 3rd set leading 2:0* but lost 12 of the next 13 games (he wasted a break point at 3-all in the 3rd and it was the vital moment of the final)… The Serb becomes the first man in the Open Era to claim five titles in Melbourne! # Quite amazing that within 24 months it was their third four-setter with actually the same progress of the match (first two sets in tie-breaks, another two rather one-sided), the big difference between their 2013 & 2015 Aussie Open finals is the order of winning the tie-breaks.

Djokovic’s route to his 8th Grand Slam title (49th overall):
    1 Aljaz Bedene 6-3, 6-2, 6-4
    2 Andrey Kuznetsov 6-0, 6-1, 6-4
    3 Fernando Verdasco 7-6(8), 6-3, 6-4
    4 Gilles Muller 6-4, 7-5, 7-5
    Q Milos Raonic 7-6(5), 6-4, 6-2
    S Stan Wawrinka 7-6(1), 3-6, 6-4, 4-6, 6-0
    W Andy Murray 7-6(5), 6-7(4), 6-3, 6-0

    # Comparison of their three similar four-setters:
    Aus Open ’13 (F): Djokovic d. Murray 6-7, 7-6, 6-3, 6-2… 3 hours 40 minutes… Total points: 139-126 (aces: 8-7)
    US Open ’14 (QF): Djokovic d. Murray 7-6, 6-7, 6-2, 6-4… 3 hours 32 minutes… Total points: 150-135 (aces: 8-9)
    Aus Open ’15 (F): Djokovic d. Murray 7-6, 6-7, 6-3, 6-0… 3 hours 39 minutes… Total points: 136-118 (aces: 8-10)
